The Bermuda Triangle  94 min

How Presidents and Pundits Keep Spinning Us To Death.  This excellent film digs up old presidental speeches to reveal that the bullsh*t LBJ told us is the exact same bullsh*t George W.Bush has been telling us, down to the exact words used.  LBJ pumped "the surge" too.  And it's all for peace and freedom and democracy which is why we have to go all the way over there to kill people who can't defend themselves.   The movie also shows how the establishment media is 100% gung ho in uncritically repeating the offical pro-war cheerleading, never setting foot into questioning or critical territory.  It's always the same because it's always a game.  It's a good film you don't want to miss.

War Made Easy  70 min

Another campy classic from Sunn productions, this one is all about the Bermuda Triangle.  I don't know about you, but I love this stuff.  It reminds me of better days when the world did not seem like it was hell bent on blowing itself to smithereens.  Movies like these provide a welcome break from too much reality and take you away for a bit of fun.  It's story time.  Who doesn't like a good story?  We think you'll like it too.

. . . . .  Low frustration threshold?  No problem!   ALL MOVIE PAGES LINKS UPDATED 10/29/08  Instant gratification . . . . .
A very well done look at how media coverage of our wars has changed over the years.  In Viet Nam reporters went out on the battlefield with the soldiers and spoke with them, seeing what they saw and reporting what they went through.  Today it's all scripted, vetted, tidied, cleared, classified, controlled and embedded.  No blood.  No bodies.  No death. No worries.  And also no information.  We don't have a clue what's really going on anymore.  The movie is a bit long in my humble opinion but about the time I'd had enough, the point had been well made.  It's a good one.
AIG Execs Hold Another Luxury Retreat
November 12, 2008

And executives at the government-rescued insurance giant AIG have been caught holding another secretive gathering at a luxury resort. Using hidden cameras, local ABC News reporters filmed AIG execs poolside at the Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort in Phoenix, Arizona. AIG has admitted to asking the hotel to ensure there were no AIG signs and to instruct staff not to mention its presence. It's at least the second known resort getaway for AIG brass since their government rescue. In September, company executives held a week long, nearly half-a-million-dollar retreat at a luxury resort just days after receiving an initial $85 billion in taxpayer money. On Monday, the Bush administration said it would give AIG an additional $40 billion, bringing its taxpayer tab to $150 billion so far.

Billboard Inserts Audio Voices into Your Head
POSTED BY JOEL JOHNSON
December 13, 2007

A new billboard on Prince Street in Soho—that's in Manhattan—uses a directional sound system from Holosonic to broadcast a message directly into your head for only you to hear. It's being used, of course, for advertising.

It's an ad for "Paranormal State," a ghost-themed series premiering on A&E this week. The billboard uses technology manufactured by Holosonic that transmits an "audio spotlight" from a rooftop speaker so that the sound is contained within your cranium. The technology, ideal for museums and libraries or environments that require a quiet atmosphere for isolated audio slideshows, has rarely been used on such a scale before. For random passersby and residents who have to walk unwittingly through the area where the voice will penetrate their inner peace, it's another story.

The speaker isn't in the billboard itself but on a nearby roof. This is a horrible idea in general, of course—the last thing I need is more voices in my head, especially ones telling me to shop—but I have to admit I kind of want to try it once to see how well it works.

Think you're avoiding MSG?
Check for these hidden sources in your "msg free" foods.

Autolyzed, hydrolyzed, glutamate, glutamic acid, hydrolyzed, autolyzed
HIDDEN SOURCES
OF PROCESSED FREE GLUTAMIC ACID (MSG)
NAMES OF INGREDIENTS THAT CONTAIN ENOUGH MSG
TO SERVE AS COMMON MSG-REACTION TRIGGERS

These ALWAYS contain MSG
Glutamate        Glutamic acid        Gelatin
Monosodium glutamate        Calcium caseinate        Textured protein
Monopotassium glutamate        Sodium caseinate        Yeast nutrient
Yeast extract        Yeast food        Autolyzed yeast
Hydrolyzed protein
(any protein that is hydrolyzed)        Hydrolyzed corn gluten        Natrium glutamate (natrium is Latin/German for sodium)

These OFTEN contain MSG or create MSG during processing
Carrageenan        Maltodextrin        Malt extract
Natural pork flavoring        Citric acid        Malt flavoring
Bouillon and Broth        Natural chicken flavoring        Soy protein isolate
Natural beef flavoring        Ultra-pasteurized        Soy sauce

Whey protein concentrate        Pectin        Soy protein
Whey protein        Protease        Soy protein concentrate

Flavors(s) & Flavoring(s)        Anything enzyme modified        Anything fermented
Natural flavor(s)
& flavoring(s)        Enzymes anything        Seasonings
(the word "seasonings")

Remember: By FDA definition, all MSG is "naturally occurring." "Natural" doesn't mean "safe."  "Natural" only means that the ingredient started out in nature.

Binders and fillers for medications, nutrients, and supplements, both prescription and non-prescription, enteral feeding materials, and some fluids administered intravenously in hospitals, may contain MSG.

According to the manufacturer, Varivax–Merck chicken pox vaccine (Varicella Virus Live), contains L-monosodium glutamate and hydrolyzed gelatin both of which contain processed free glutamic acid (MSG) which causes brain lesions in young laboratory animals, and causes endocrine disturbances like OBESITY and REPRODUCTIVE disorders later in life.  It would appear that most, if not all, live virus vaccines contain MSG.

Low fat and no fat milk products often include milk solids that contain MSG.  Low fat and no fat versions of ice cream and cheese may not be as obvious as yogurt, milk, cream, cream cheese, cottage cheese, etc., but they are not an exception.
