OUR RECOMMENDATIONS
WAR IS A RACKET
129 Why We Fight - Anatomy of the American War Machine 1 hr 40 min
..............................................................................................................
This movie is on my 'Top Ten Most Important Movies' list. If they showed this and other movies like it on prime time television we'd never have gotten into the mess we're in today with the neo-cons and Iraq and the insane ideology of world domination through military might.
It has excellent footage of important people, places and moments in time, mixed with recent but forgotten history. It reveals the relationship between Congress and Military Contractors and the fact that so called Think Tanks write the bulk of our legislation. Richard Perle, the scariest neo-con in DC, offers his assurance that no matter what we do, the neo-con game plan will not be stopped. (Let's hear a big, "Oh yeah?!")
The top guns in government don't think the people need to know what the military is doing or why. Well, the sooner everyone sees this film, the sooner we can rise up as a nation and together, deliver this message to Washington DC, "Bite Me! And you're all fired!" Watch it, share it, spread the link. On top of it all, it's a good movie. And the soundtrack has some excellent talent too. What's not to like?
UNDENIABLE BETRAYAL
92 9/11: Press for Truth 1 hr 24 min
.....................................................................................
The families of 9/11's victims bear a burden of pain that goes far beyond our own breath taking shock and sadness. They need answers which are not forthcoming. The bush administration had to be pushed for 2 years to start a commission to investigate what happened that day, and when it finally agreed, the entire exercise was interwoven with conflicts of interest, omissions, and worse. Questions were asked but never answered.
Inevitably answers were sought without official help which has unraveled hundreds of lies and shocking facts, many of which were strangely not spoken of by corporate media, leaving the public in ignorance. This film is a veritable data base of the lies and hidden facts in the official version of 9/11 that everyone has the right to know. If it's hard for you to believe your government could lie, cheat and steal from you, then you need to watch this movie. I know it hurts. The truth often does.
DEPRAVED INDIFFERENCE IS GOVERNMENT POLICY
107 Mind Control: America's Secret War
.............................................................................................
Now it's finally admitted. Unforgivable and utterly inexcusable horrors are carried out by this government on innocent people without their knowledge or consent. Lives are destroyed, suffering is incalculable, and deaths are no deterrent to these psychopathic freaks. Thousands and thousands of people have been experimented on, most do not even know. No one has ever been punished, reprimanded or fired for this. The message is clear: it's okay to keep doing this, and much worse. What is revealed here is from 40 years ago. Imagine what they're doing now. This made me angrier than I care to get. I'd better leave it at that.
NO LIFE IS PRECIOUS, UNLESS IT'S A RICH ONE
86 Prisoners of Katrina
...............................................................
Once again we need the BBC to expose us to ourselves. When Ray Nagin ordered the city to evacuate, people scrambled to get out of town. We know the ones who didn't have the ability to leave were left to fend for themselves. This version of 21st century gov't sees no reason to help the sick or poor, the blacks or the democrats; their lives apparently have no value to them.
If the law abiding poor aren't worth saving, what about the 7,000 souls in jail? The most basic humanity would have bussed prisoners out of harms way, but there was no basic humanity. Prisoners and staff were abandoned, and left to drown in lock down like rats. People were left to slowly die in rising waters, without food or water, locked in overcrowded cells, by conscious decision.
The elected sheriff made that call, and in the midst of the disaster he was no where to be found. He was awol while people drowned and endured the nightmare. It is clear that there is such a thing as a male whore as is evidenced by this sheriff's bald face lies about being on hand during the catastrophe and how not one life was lost. In fact, he showed up only once with a camera man, to make a clip for his re-election campaign. He was re-elected. This is a tale of system failure, overt hatred of poor people and black people, and of the simple people who's lives were rendered n/a by politicians. You should know about it.
113 George Carlin - Life is Worth Losing 1 hr 14 min
.............................................................................................................
Irreverent, foul mouthed, sometimes disgusting and occasionally out in the weeds, George Carlin lets 'er rip with a scathing indictment of modern America. He is always brilliant but this is razor sharp. George never says a word that isn't a serious message so if you're new to him you can get some practice reading between the lines. If you're not new, you won't be disappointed. His opening bit alone is amazing. (He hates trite politically correct buzzwords and I think he about uses them all in his intro.) Not for the faint of heart or panty wad types.
